Attention: Veterinarians, Fire Departments, Animal Services, back country enthusiasts, and community volunteers

*Cheryl Ellis, DVM - veterinarian with UC Davis VERT program.
*John Madigan, DVM, DACVIM - VERT Director and PI for CAL-EMA Animals in Disaster Training Program
*Tracey Stevens - Project coordinator and UC Davis liaison for Animals in Disasters program
Program:
*Introduction to new program for State of California
*Effective veterinary and first responder coordinated response and rescue methods for animal emergencies- Horse trailer accidents on the roadway, horses off the trail in a ravine, horses in mud, or 20 other ways a horse can become in need of extraction or vertical lifting.
*How to create a community veterinary emergency response team- The UC Davis VERT example.
*Rescue case examples
*Training and demonstration segment: Three stations with three equine manikins: Use of the large animal skid, the UC Davis Large Animal Lift: horizontal drag, vertical lift, forward assist, rear assist.
