TOOLS TO PROTECT SACRED LANDS

On August 24-26, 2011, NIJC will conduct a training session on the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) and Related Laws. This session examines issues and how to overcome barriers to protecting human remains, sacred objects, and sacred sites. This training will also cover cultural resource monitoring at road construction sites and other activities where sacred and culturally important sites and resources may be affected. The session will examine applicable federal and state laws. Participants will receive a reference manual and certificate of achievement for completing the training.
