Hazardous Materials Transportation Certification Workshops
For State, Federal and Tribal Employees
August 30 & 31 and September 1, 2011

Any employee who affects the safe transport of hazardous materials (including pesticide samples) must be trained before performing hazmat duties and retrained every three years and as rules change (Ref. 49 CFR 172, Subpart H, also referred to as 172.702, HM-181, and HM-126F). This course provides security, general awareness, and function-specific training for those responsible for managing hazmat transport compliance.
South Dakota Department of Agriculture is hosting a 2-day 49CFR Hazardous Materials Transportation Certification Workshop for those who ship hazardous materials samples by ground including pesticide samples.
Following the 49 CFR workshop there will be the 1-day training for IATA Hazardous Materials Air Shipper Certification.
DATE:
The 49 CFR ground workshop is 2 days on August 30 & 31, 2011 in Pierre, SD.
The IATA air workshop is 1 day on September 1, 2011.
Class will be held 8:00am to 5:00pm each day.
COST: (NEW LOWER PRICE)
The cost is for the state, federal, & tribal employee ground workshop is $ 295/student. This includes the Ground Hazardous Materials Transportation Regulations Manual, the Ground Hazardous Materials Transportation Workbook, and Reference on CD.
The cost for the state, federal & tribal employee air workshop is $ 165/student. This includes the Air Hazardous Materials Transportation Workbook and Reference on CD. It does NOT include the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, 51st Edition. This can be rented for the training ($45/ea) or purchased for $ 210/ea.
