UPCOMING Webinar Series!

National PETE will be hosting the entire 10-Module Administrative and Financial Guidance for U.S. EPA Assistance Agreements training via Webinar in May and June 2011! The trainings will be held on the following dates:


To sign up for any/all of the Webinar training sessions, please email Sarah Gross with the specific Module(s) you wish to attend. These sessions are provided free of charge, last from 1-2 hours each, and require only a computer and internet connection (wired connection preferable). Attendees will be able to ask questions via chat box. Certificates of completion will be available for those who participate in all 10 Modules.
*Module 9 is being presented twice and at a later time to accommodate individuals in the South Pacific. If these dates/times do not work for you, please consider doing some of the course through the asynchronous self-paced program available at
http://www.petetribal.org.


TRAINING


There are four essential components to the process of managing EPA assistance agreement awards:
1) Application and Review Process
2) Management Systems
3) Financial Systems
4) Closeout Process


This training will take you through each of these components, outlining Tribal/ U.S. Territory/ Insular Area responsibilities and Environmental Protection Agency responsibilities. The training is available in face-to-face, webinar and web course formats. While each format has its own advantages, all three provide the same essential information about managing EPA assistance awards.

2) ASSISTANCE AGREEMENT AWARDS
3) BINDING AGREEMENTS
4) GRANTS MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS
5) ADMINISTRATIVE SYSTEM COMPONENTS
6) FINANCIAL SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
7) ACCOUNTING POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
8) SOURCE DOCUMENTATION FOR PROCUREMENT AND PURCHASING
9) DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISES
10) ASSISTANCE AGREEMENT MONITORING AND CLOSEOUT



This training is available through a contract between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Offices of Small Business Programs and Grants and Debarment and the National Partnership for Environmental Technology Education (PETE). National PETE is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization working to facilitate partnerships between educational institutions, industry and government.
