Southern California Tribal Assistance Group

Post by NaepcA1 »

Dear Tribal Contacts:

The attached letter announcing the start of a Southern California Tribal Assistance Group (TAC-G) monthly telephone call is going out to Southern California Tribal leaders today. The purpose of the call is to provide a high quality environment for emergency management staff to collaborate with individuals and entities that are dedicated to organized assistance for Tribal governments before, during, and after disasters.

There is currently a national call held monthly, however, given the unique disasters that occur in Southern California we thought it was important to launch a call with the same mission as the national call, but focused specifically on Southern California issues. We need input from Tribes on when to have the call and partners that should be invited to participate on the call. Please see the attached letter, have the Tribe fill out their preferences and email your response to me at: Lenore.Lamb@bia.gov, or fax it to (951) 276-6641.

I want to personally thank Jay Hinshaw from the BIA Pacific Regional Office, Patrick Vacha from DOI Office of Homeland Security, and Theresa Gregor from Inter Tribal Long Term Recovery Foundation for their assistance in helping to support the Southern California Agency in this important endeavor.

I’m looking forward to partnering with all of you to enhance emergency management coordination in Southern California!

Regards,
Lenore Lamb
