Pesticide Certification and Training Webinar for Region 9 Tr

EPA Region 9 Pesticide Program staff invite you participate in this Webinar to discuss ways that tribes can ensure pesticide applicators are legally certified and competent to apply restricted use pesticides (RUPs) in Indian Country. Current options include (1) developing a tribal plan to certify applicators, (2) establishing an MOU with a state certifying agency, or (3) participating in a Federal Plan (such as the Federal Plan for Navajo Nation being implemented by Region 9 on behalf of the tribe or the national Federal plan currently under development by the Office of Pesticide Programs). There will be ample time to ask questions about these types of plans and what to consider when determining what will work for your tribe. Today, most of Indian country is not covered by an EPA-approved certification mechanism.
