Grant Programs Directorate (GPD) National Conference 2012
“Increased Preparedness to Build Community Resilience”
GPD is pleased to invite you to mark your calendars to join us for the GPD National Conference 2012, “Increased Preparedness to Build Community Resilience”. The conference will be held August 7-9 2012 in Washington DC. The conference will consist of a series of workshops, plenary discussions with DHS/FEMA leadership and breakout sessions focusing on:
• Grant Policy Updates
• FY13 Vision of a National Preparedness Gant Program (NPGP)
• Guidance on “How to Leverage Grant Dollars” from other federal entities
• Information on Regionalization Outreach
• Presidential Policy directive (PPD-8)
• State and Regional threat and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (THIRA)
• National Preparedness System (NPS)
• SAA focused breakouts
• FY12 after action for TSGP and PSGP
• Technical Assistance and Best practices session for Federally recognized Tribes
• 2012 Transit Safety and Security round table
This Conference will also serve as a forum to collect stakeholder feedback from States, Territories, Federally Recognized Tribes, faith-based and non-profit organizations and the private sector community. You will also be given the opportunity to network with your peers from other States and Territories as well as representatives from other Federal agencies.
Breakout sessions will be facilitated by federal staff from an array of different agencies with a focus on audience questions and answers from surveys distributed prior. The annual After Action conference will also be incorporated into this event. The conference will incorporate other FEMA directorates to provide a venue for discussion on subjects such as PPD-8 implementation, Whole Community doctrine, THIRA integration and managing impact lead by NPAD.
