May 10 - Free Waste Characterization Training

Post by NaepcA1 »

Hello Region 9 Tribal Environmental Directors and Staff,

On Thursday, May 10, 2012 the Picayune Rancheria of Chukchansi Indians will host a free WASTE CHARACTERIZATION TRAINING at the Chuckchansi Gold Resort and Casino! An EPA contractor will lead participants through both classroom and field activities to conduct an effective solid waste characterization effort. Waste Characterization is essential in developing a comprehensive Integrated Waste Management Plan. During the training participants will learn how to collect meaningful data to improve tribal solid waste management. This course is ideal for tribes who are in the process of developing or updating their Integrated Waste Management Plan, including tribes who are interested in developing or updating their recycling program. The training is free of charge.

Space is limited and available on a "first come, first serve" basis. Please note that anyone who participates is required to provide and wear their own safety equipment: steel-toed boots, safety vest, hard hat, work gloves, and safety glasses for the training. If you would like to take advantage of this training opportunity, please email me back as soon as possible.

Where: Picayune Rancheria, 711 Lucky Lane, Coarsegold, CA 93614: Meet at the Chuckchansi Gold Resort and Casino, Manzanita Room.
