The National NAGPRA Grant Program offers grants to assist museums and Indian tribes with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The NAGPRA process may include consultation, documentation, and repatriation of human remains and cultural items. Learn how to assess the needs of a NAGPRA program, identify fundable projects, and write and manage a successful grant. Review case studies of grant applications and projects. Instructors: Jan I. Registration. A registration form is available online at www.npi.org/register.html. The advance registration rate is available through April 10 for $450 (2 days). The regular registration rate after that date is $500.

Travel Grants. National NAGPRA Program travel grants for up to $500 may be available through NPI for this seminar - www.npi.org/schol-NAGPRA.html. To qualify for the travel grant, participants must work or volunteer for a Federally recognized tribe or Native Hawaiian organization’s NAGPRA and/or repatriation program, or for a museum with an operating budget of $250,000 or less.
