2012 Tribal Lands Forum
Tribal Lands and Environment: A National Forum on Solid Waste, Emergency Response, Contaminated Sites, and USTS:
The Institute for Tribal Environmental Professionals, National Tribal Waste and Response Assistance Program (TWRAP) Steering Committee and USEPA’s Office of Solid Waste and Emergency Response (OSWER), would like to invite you to the 2012 Tribal Lands Forum.

August 20-23, 2012
Mill Casino and Hotel
Coos Bay, OR

The Forum is an annual national gathering of tribal professionals and their colleagues from various federal agencies. Topics covered will be waste management, brownfields, Superfund sites, underground storage tanks, land remediation, and emergency response.

The Forum will be held at the Mill Casino, which is owned by the Coquille Tribe. To make your reservations at the Mill Casino and Hotel please call them at 1-800-953-4800 and tell them you are attending the Tribal Lands Forum. If you are flying in to Coos Bay you will want to use the Southwest Oregon Regional airport, which has service from both San Francisco and Portland. The airport code is OTH.

On this website you will find several tabs that provide information on the following:
• Presenters/Vendors: If you are interested in submitting a proposal for a training or breakout session presentation, you will find the proposal form here. We are currently accepting proposals for sessions so if you are interested in conducting a session at the Forum please download the proposal form and send it to todd.barnell@nau.edu soon. We also have a form for entities interested in securing one of the tables in our vendor and exhibitor area.
• Registration: If you haven’t already registered for the Forum you can do so here.
• Hotel Info: Information on making reservations at the Mill Casino (where the Forum will be taking place) as well as the Red Lion Hotel can be found here. Please be aware that the Mill Casino has 185 rooms available and we anticipate they will fill up rather quickly. The Mill Casino complex also has an RV Park if you are interested in those types of accommodations.
• Airports/Area Information: If you are flying to the Forum, there are three airports to choose from. The Southwest Oregon Regional Airport is located in North Bend/Coos Bay and is the most convenient as the Mill Casino provides shuttle service to and from that airport. However, this is a smaller regional airport and the number of daily flights are limited. You can also fly into either the Portland or Eugene airports and rent a car to get to North Bend/Coos Bay. Information on all three of these airports can be found here, as well as information on the Coquille Tribe and area attractions.
• Agenda: We have included a draft agenda on the website which will give you an idea of how the Forum will be structured. We will be offering five trainings on Monday, August 20, and then a variety of breakout sessions Tuesday through Thursday. Once we have selected the five trainings for Monday we will send a special email out notifying you all. We will also update the agenda once we select all the breakout sessions.
