NEW Accounting Module (1/2-Day)
This course is designed to provide a basic foundation in accounting fundamentals for non-accountants, including project managers and new finance staff who are involved in grants management. Basic accounting concepts and tools covered in the course include:
• the chart of accounts
• general journal
• general ledger
• balance Sheet
• income statement
• accounts receivable
• accounts payable
• payroll
• travel
• receipts and disbursements
• the cash versus accrual accounting methods
• overview of the audit process
The course also covers and stresses the importance of good communication, internal controls, documentation and records retention.
