The Montana State University Tribal Healthy Homes Assessment, Training and Technical Assistance Support Center is hosting a training October 27-29 for tribal communities in the Four Corners area. The training will cover how to conduct a Healthy Homes assessment and how to remediate household health and safety hazards when they are found. There is also an option of attending a Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) training on October 26 where attendees will become EPA certified in lead-safe work practices.
The Tribal Healthy Homes training is funded through a HUD grant, so it is free to tribes. Normally, there is a small registration fee associated with the training (to cover meals), but the Southern Ute Tribe has kindly offered to host the meals for the October training. They expect to be able to accommodate approximately 60 people, with probably 24 seats available for the RRP training.
More information about the training is available on the Tribal Healthy Homes website: http://tribalhealthyhomes.org/training_schedule.htm.
