Tribal Environmental Departments:
You are invited to attend a Riparian Proper Functioning Condition (PFC) Assessment Workshop, sponsored by the US EPA Region 9, Pala Band of Mission Indians, and the La Jolla Band of Luiseno Indians. This workshop is designed for tribal staff involved in (or with future plans for) natural resource and/or water quality monitoring programs. This workshop outlines the Riparian PFC Assessment method, an assessment and management tool designed to help staff determine the health of their waterways.
This FREE 2 ½ day workshop will be held at the Pala Band of Mission Indians’ Reservation, with field sites in the San Luis Rey Watershed. Pala is located in northern San Diego County, California (45 minutes north of San Diego), and is indicative of rural watersheds in more arid climates. Though this workshop is free, there are only 50 seats available, so please register soon (see attachment) by filling out the registration form and sending it to Heidi Brow, Pala Environmental Department (fax: 760-742-3189)(hbrow@palatribe.com ).
Training will begin May 12th at 8am, and end on May 14th at noon. Lunch will be provided on May 12th & 13th by the Pala and La Jolla Tribes.
Please see the agenda and travel information in the attachments for more information.
