After hearing from several members that they were unable to attend the scheduled May 9th Air Quality Committee meeting, Terry has made the decision to postpone the meeting.

Please mark your calendar for our next meeting, Wednesday, June 13th at noon.

The speaker will be Phil Fine, PH.D – Planning Rules Manager from the SCAQMD. He will be presenting on the 2012 Air Quality Management Plan (AQMP) which the AQMD staff is currently working on.
Periodically, the South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD) prepares an overall plan (AQMP) update to meet the federal requirements and/or to incorporate the latest technical planning information. Each iteration of the plan is an update of the previous plan. This a regional and multi-agency effort (AQMD, California Air Resources Board, Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) and US Environmental Protection Agency). State and federal planning requirements include developing control strategies, attainment demonstrations, reasonable further progress, and maintenance plans. The 2012 AQMP will incorporate the latest scientific and technical information and planning assumptions, including the 2012 Regional Transportation Plan/Sustainable Communities Strategy, updated emission inventory methodologies for various source categories, and SCAG's latest growth forecasts.
