Greetings,
The United States Environmental Protection Agency Region 9 has initiated consultation with tribal leaders about a proposed change to the Region 9 Drinking Water Tribal Set-Aside Ranking Criteria (see attached letter).
The proposed change would raise the ranking of projects that address exceedances of primary drinking water standards, and lower the ranking of projects that solely address water supply deficiencies (water outages). This allows higher ranking for projects that address documented health effects, and a lower ranking for projects that address health risks. Any tribe seeking Drinking Water Tribal Set-Aside funds may be interested in this proposed change.
To learn more about this proposed change, you are invited to participate in an outreach conference call:
March 22, 2013, 10:00 am Pacific Time (11:00 am for Navajo)
Call in number: 866-299-3188; Access Code: 9723733#
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Linda
