Prop 84 Funding

Post by NaepcA1 »

Call for Projects – September 1, 2012 to October 19, 2012

The San Diego Integrated Regional Water Management (IRWM) Program is looking for projects and programs that provide integrated solutions to the Region’s water management issues. From now until October 19, 2012, we are accepting submittals to our online project database for inclusion in the San Diego IRWM Plan Update and for consideration in the upcoming Prop 84-Round 2 Implementation Grant. We’re anticipating a suite of projects totaling a $10.3 million grant request for the Prop 84-Round 2 cycle.

How Do I Apply for Prop 84-Round 2 Funding Through the San Diego Region?
From now until October 19, 2012, log on to our online project database - http://www.sdirwmp.org/grant-opportunities - and complete the online forms describing your project and its benefits related to water management.

How Can I Network with Other Organizations To Improve My Project?
On September 12, 2012 at 9am-12pm at SDG&E’s Energy Innovation Center (4760 Clairemont Mesa Blvd., San Diego, CA 92114), we will be hosting a Strategic Integration Workshop to encourage networking among project proponents and organizations seeking to be partners. Please see the attached flyer.

Also in September, we will be reaching out through a series of Watershed Workshops to inform stakeholders about the Plan Update and discuss watershed-scale issues, as well as present information about the Prop 84-Round 2 grant opportunity. You may sit next to a great project partner at one of these Workshops! Flyer is also attached.

What Does a Competitive IRWM Project Look Like?
Please read through the attached Project Guide for more information on the Call for Projects, how “integration” is defined, and the project selection criteria that is used. The Project Guide also provides information about eligibility and contracting requirements, such as the required 25% funding match and 10% retention. We will also be discussing “integration” and project selection criteria at the Strategic Integration Workshop on September 12, 2012.

What Happens After the Call for Projects Closes on October 19, 2012?
After the Call for Projects closes, our technical team will review the online submittals for accuracy and technical feasibility and direct any questions to the project proponent. The project list will then be reviewed and evaluated by a Project Selection Workgroup of our Regional Advisory Committee. The Workgroup will bring a recommended suite of projects for the $10.3 million grant to the Regional Advisory Committee at our December 5, 2012 meeting.

Who Can I Call for More Information?
Feel free to contact our Program Manager, Mark Stadler, at (858)522-6735 or mstadler@sdcwa.org, with any questions. Our website – www.sdirwmp.org – also has lots of good information and resources!

Thank you,
Rosalyn
