Region 9 Tribal Pesticide Inspector Training

Good afternoon,
The purpose of this letter is to invite you to attend the Region 9 Tribal Pesticide Inspector Training from June 12-14, 2012 in Chandler, Arizona. The training will take place at the Gila River Indian Community’s Wild Horse Pass Hotel and Casino, located at 5040 Wild Horse Pass Boulevard, Chandler, Arizona. The official training announcement, along with the draft agenda, registration form, and instructions for use of the travel expense claim form is attached. Our sincere thanks to Pesticide Program staff at Gila River Indian Community, Navajo Nation, Ak-Chin Indian Community, Tohono O’Odham Nation and EPA Region 9 for planning, organizing, funding and hosting this event.
To register for the training, please complete and e-mail the attached Registration Form to Jazmine Montiel with the Inter Tribal Council of Arizona, Inc. at jazmine.montiel@itcaonline.com by May 14, 2012. The training commences on Tuesday morning, June 12th and ends on Thursday afternoon on June 14th, with a field trip (mock inspections) scheduled for the last day. Please make sure that you are able to attend the entire training. We also request that you bring the following to the training:
• Your field notebook and clipboard (for use during the mock inspections); and
• Appropriate field shoes, sunscreen and a hat for the field day.
A block of rooms has been reserved at the negotiated rate of $75 per night (not including taxes) at the Wild Horse Pass Hotel and Casino. To receive this rate, reservations must be made by close of business on Saturday, May 12, 2012. Reservations can be made by calling the Wild Horse Pass Hotel and Casino at (800)-946-4452. Be sure to reference the “Inter Tribal Council of Arizona, Inc.”. Each participant’s travel costs will be reimbursed by the Inter Tribal Council of Arizona, Inc. with funds provided by EPA Region 9 for this purpose. Reimbursements will be provided only to participants who attend all sessions of the training.
