The NASDA Research Foundation (NASDARF) has a cooperative agreement (X8-83456201) with the US Environmental Protection Agency to enhance pesticide safety education. Over the past several years NASDARF has completed several national efforts to assiststates, territories, and tribes with their applicator certification programs. These efforts include the first Certification Exam Development workshop, Aerial Applicator Manual/Exam ItemBank, Soil Fumigation Manual/Exam Item Bank, and Right-of-Way Training Syllabus/Exam Blueprint/Item Bank.
NASDARF recognizes that implementation by SLAs and PSEPs of any one of these priority areas requires significant investments in time (organization, meetings, resource development), travel, and energy. We also believe adoption of quality exams, manuals, and training resources strengthens pesticide safety. NASDARF encourages SLA and PSEP managers to consider implementation efforts they would like to pursue and offers up to $5,000 in seed money to assist those efforts. Both SLAs and CES can request support.
To request this support from NASDARF, go to http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/NASDARF5K. Work must fall within the following time frame: April 1, 2012 through February 28, 2013 (11 months maximum). Carol Ramsay will email you approval or request for clarification within 2 weeks of submission. This is a one-time opportunity. The last date to request this support is May 15th.
