“WILDFIRE SMOKE & ASTHMA: UNDERSTANDING THE CONNECTIONS AND TAKING STEPS TO BREATHE EASIER” In California, wildfires are common and increasing in frequency and intensity. Wildfire smoke – a complex mixture of air pollutants – is unhealthy to breathe and can be especially dangerous for people with asthma. This webinar, featuring staff from Regional Asthma Management & Prevention and the Public Health Institute, will address the following topics: - The impact of wildfire smoke on asthma, including the physiology and latest research - Steps to minimize exposure to wildfire smoke, including masks and air cleaners - Resources available to support efforts to reduce wildfire smoke exposure

RAMP’s mission is to reduce the burden of asthma with a focus on health equity. - Gina Solomon, a Principal Investigator at the Public Health Institute, a global non-profit research and leadership organization that builds capacity for public health programs, policies and practices.
