2012 Pesticide Regulatory Education Program Courses

Post by NaepcA1 »

We’re ready to kick-off the 2012 Pesticide Regulatory Education Program (PREP) season with five courses. Under a grant provided by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), UC Davis Extension is presenting a selection of popular and new courses with broad-based appeal. We thank the Montana Department of Agriculture who will host the Pesticides & Water Quality Course this year (administered by UC Davis Extension.)
The 2012 PREP courses, locations and dates are as follows:

Laboratory Issues Course Davis, California March 19-22, 2012
Senior Pesticide Managers Workshop Davis, California April 23-26, 2012
Pesticides & Water Quality Course Helena, Montana June 26-29, 2012
Intermediate/Advanced Registration / Re-Evaluation Course Arlington, Virginia July 16-19, 2012
Pesticide Worker Safety Course Davis, California September 24-27, 2012
A brief description of each class is provided on the attached course calendar. You will receive an invitation letter a couple of months prior to each course. The letter will include the target audience specification and a nomination form. For additional and updated course information throughout the year, please visit the UC Davis PREP website at http://www.prep-gov.net.
In consideration of the environment and as a cost savings measure, we will ONLY send course invitations by EMAIL and will NOT follow-up with a hard copy through the postal service. We have added an additional recipient in most agencies to make sure all announcements are received and routed promptly.

We are trying very hard to assure full and proper utilization of the State/Tribal FIFRA Grant funds that support this unique training opportunity. If this notice has been directed to an inappropriate contact within your organization, please pass it along to the correct person then contact Suzanne Forsyth at UC Davis Extension to assure that future correspondence is properly directed.
PREP course invitations will also be sent to representatives of tribes that have ongoing FIFRA Cooperative Agreements. Tribes will be able to nominate individuals directly, but must meet the same criteria as all attendees regarding job responsibilities and level of responsibility within their respective organizations.
We are still assembling planning groups to help develop the agendas for the last four courses of the year. If you would like to participate on a group or would like to nominate someone, please send an email to either Suzanne or Dea at the addresses indicated below. Thanks to all past and future planning group volunteers!

We look forward to a great PREP season and appreciate your assistance in selecting appropriate individuals. If you need more information, or have questions regarding the above courses please call Suzanne Forsyth at UC Davis Extension, (530) 757-8603.

Sincerely,

Suzanne Forsyth
