The Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Tribal Energy Program under the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy is soliciting applications to initiate the First Steps Toward Developing Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency on Tribal Lands. Through grants, DOE intends to provide financial support under the provisions of the Title V of the Energy Policy Act (EPAct) of 2005.
DOE’s Tribal Energy Program promotes Tribal energy sufficiency and fosters employment and economic development on Tribal Lands through financial and technical assistance to Tribes. It is intended that, through these studies, Tribes will obtain sufficient information to make informed decisions about whether to implement conservation measures and/or develop their renewable energy resources. Information on the Tribal Energy Program and previously funded projects is available on the website at http://www.eere.energy.gov/tribalenergy.
