This Environmental Protection Agency competition selects multiple Grantmakers around the nation to reduce barriers to the federal grant application process and increase the efficiency of the awards process for environmental justice grants. Selected Grantmakers administer and sub-grant funds directly to environmental justice activities.

Eligible entities include partnerships between a federally recognized tribal government and a community-based nonprofit organization.

Deadline extended to May 31

The application deadline has been extended to May 31 for states, tribal nations, and territories to apply for this formula grant program designed to strengthen and modernize America's power grid against wildfires, extreme weather, and other natural disasters exacerbated by the climate crisis.

The DOE program allocates $181 million to tribal nations over an anticipated five-year period to improve the resilience of the electric grid against disruptive events.
