On Friday, August 5, 2016, 9:00a.m.-12:00p.m. at Pauma Tribal Hall, Pauma Valley, CA, NAEPC and the Pauma Band of Luiseno Indians will be providing an “Active Shooter Presentation” with the Department of Homeland Security, Protective Security Advisor, Kelly Wilson. This presentation provides information on preparing your workplace, employees, and clients for the possibility of an active shooter event. Participants will learn steps to prepare for, respond to, and recover from an incident and additional resources for creating plans and training your workforce.

There is pre-presentation assignment to complete before attending the workshop. Once registered you will receive an Active Shooter Plan to complete. This plan will be discussed and further refined at the presentation. The Protective Security Advisor will be on hand to assist as needed.

PRESENTER: Kelly Wilson is a Department of Homeland Security Protective Security Advisor assigned to Southern California. She serves as a security and resiliency subject matter expert and is the link between state, local, tribal and territorial organizations and agencies. Kelly’s experience as a Maryland State Police from 1999 to 2007 and with the Department of Homeland Security and Intelligence Division (HSID). She was Trooper of the year in 2001 and nominated for Police Officer of Year Award from the International Association of Chiefs of Police-Parade Magazine. From 1995 to 2004 Kelly served as an Intelligence Analyst and Technical Intelligence Analyst in the US Army. She was deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom where she was responsible for planning and carrying out missions to numerous locations within Iraq. She holds a graduate degree from the University of Phoenix and a bachelors from John Sperling School of Business.
