Attached is a copy of a Federal Registernotice announcing the proposed reissuance of EPA’s vessel general permit (VGP) for discharges from commercial and non-recreational vessels greater than or equal to 79 feet in length and the proposed issuance of EPA's small vessel general permit (sVGP) for discharges from vessels less than 79 feet. The proposed VGP, sVGP, fact sheets for these permits and additional information can be found on EPA’s website at: http://cfpub.epa.gov/npdes/vessels/vgpermit.cfm.

The public comment period for the proposed VGP/sVGP closes on February 21, 2012. Comments may be submitted by e-mail or regular mail as described in the attached notice prior to the close of the comment period.
