Tribal Water Quality Standards Academy Nov15-19

Post by NaepcA1 »

Environmental Protection Agency's Tribal Water Quality Standards Academy training course. This basic level training is targeted to representatives of tribal water quality programs. The training will be held November 15-19, 2010 at the Desert Diamond Hotel, in Tucson, AZ.

The training will begin on Monday, November 15 at 8:30 am and will conclude by early afternoon on Friday, November 19. The course is designed for those who are developing or will soon be developing Clean Water Act water quality standards for reservation lands. The training will focus on important components of the water quality standards program. A variety of techniques will be used to teach the course content, including lecture, discussion and hands on interactive activities in group settings. The interactive sessions will be co-facilitated by Tribal water quality experts. We will also engage the participants in a simulation of some aspects of the water quality standards development process. Participants will receive a variety of reading materials prior to the course. It is expected that they will become familiar with the materials prior to their arrival on Monday, November 15. A pre-test will be administered on the first day of the training and a post-test will be administered on the last day in order to measure the effectiveness of the training.
