Greetings everyone,

The California Department of Water Resources (DWR) will begin to convene a Tribal Advisory Committee (Tribal AC) for California Water Plan Update 2018 (Update 2018). The charge of the Tribal AC, as a forum of California Native American Tribes and Tribal organizations, is to advise and inform DWR on the preparation of Update 2018. This will include reviewing and commenting on materials for Update 2018, and ensuring that these materials include Tribal perspectives on land, water, and culture. To launch this effort, DWR has scheduled a Tribal AC Orientation Webinar on Wednesday, October 19 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm.

The webinar agenda is attached, during which we will: 1) explain the new direction for Update 2018; 2) review the Tribal AC charge, work plan and schedule; 3) discuss the next Tribal Water Summit; and 4) provide information about the upcoming October 25th Plenary in Sacramento.

Mark Your Calendars – DWR has scheduled the 2016 Plenary Meeting for Update 2018 at the Auto Museum in Sacramento. Additional information about the October 25th Plenary Meeting will be released soon.
