EPA Pesticide Program Update

Post by NaepcA1 »

EPA's Office of Pesticide Programs - 12/09/2011

IN THIS UPDATE:

1) Participate in DEEM's Discussion Forum
2) Pesticide Federal Register Items for the Week of December 05-09, 2011
***********************************************
1) Participate in DEEM's Discussion Forum

EPA recently released a beta version of the Dietary Exposure Evaluation
Model-Food Commodity Intake Database (DEEM-FCID) to the public. We’d
like to hear what you think of this software, so please participate in
the discussion at
https://blog.epa.gov/deem/2011/11/dieta ... ion-forum/
.

We would appreciate any feedback you can give us on the installation
process, operating system and software compatibility issues, as well as
comments regarding the data, ease of running the program and the input
of data. These discussions will help us refine the usability of the
software for later final release to the public which is expected in
spring 2012.

DEEM-FCID is a dietary exposure analysis system for use in the
performance of chronic and acute exposure assessments. This beta version
is not intended for regulatory purposes, but is instead being released
as an evaluation version for public testing and review. The agency will
continue to use its current version of DEEM-FCID (v. 2.03) to conduct
dietary risk assessments to estimate exposure and establish pesticide
tolerances. The beta version of DEEM-FCID being released for public
testing and evaluation contains more recent food commodity consumption
data derived from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey
for 2003-2006 in place of the data from the USDA Continuing Survey of
Food Intake by Individuals 1994-96/1998 that are currently used in
dietary assessments.

Read more about the DEEM-FCID software.
