Good Morning TPO!!!

Per my update at yesterday’s staff meeting, please find attached an unsigned consultation letter regarding the restructure of the Tribal Border Infrastructure (TBI) Program within the Tribal Office for the Water Division. The letter is likely to be signed today by Jane and should be in the mail by COB today. I will send another quick email at the end of today to confirm that this has happened.

If you are the GAP PO for a Border Tribe (i.e. a Tribe whose reservation lies within 62 miles north of the U.S./Mexico border), then please encourage your Tribe to participate in this consultation process so that their input is heard and, as appropriate, incorporated into the restructuring process for TBI. A consultation call is tentatively scheduled for June 24, 2013 from 1PM PST to 215PM PST (please see letter for further information). A list of Border Tribes that meet the qualifications aforementioned are as follows:

1. Barona Band of Mission Indians
2. Campo Band of Kumeyaay Indians
3. Capitan Grande Band of Mission Indians
4. Cocopah Indian Tribe
5. Ewiaapaayp Indian Reservation (i.e. Cuyapaipe)
6. Inaja Band of Diegueno Indians of the Inaja and Cosmit Reservation
7. Jamul Indian Village
8. La Jolla Band of Luiseño Indians
9. La Posta Band of Mission Indians
10. Los Coyotes Band of Cahuilla Mission Indians
11. Manzanita Band of Kumeyaay Nation
12. Mesa Grande Band of Mission Indians
13. Pala Band of Mission Indians
14. Pascua Yaqui Tribe
15. Pauma Band of Mission Indians
16. Quechan Indian Tribe – Fort Yuma
17. Rincon Band of Luiseño Mission Indians
18. San Pasqual Band of Mission Indians
19. Santa Ysabel Band of Diegueno Indians
20. Sycuan Band of Kumeyaay Nation
21. Temecula Band of Luiseño Mission Indians, Pechanga Reservation
22. Tohono O’odham Nation
23. Torres-Martinez Desert Cahuilla Indians
24. Viejas Group of Capitan Grande Band of Mission Indians

While Loretta Vanegas is the program’s coordinator, she is currently out on leave through June 18th. In the interim, I am serving as her back-up. If any of your Tribes have any questions, then please forward those to me.

Thanks for your assistance and let me know if you have additional questions too!
