Climate Webinar

Post by NaepcA1 »

On May 30, 2018, the Bureau of Indian Affairs – Tribal Resilience Program, held a webinar to answer questions about the two notices of funding currently available to support tribal resilience to extreme events and harmful environmental trends, capacity building, and ocean and coastal management planning. This webinar was hosted by partners at the Institute for Tribal Environmental Professionals (ITEP) and recorded for those not able to join. The recording and slide deck will be available Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at the ITEP website.

The webinar also provided an overview of the two funding opportunities, one announced on May 9 (closing July 2) for Federally Recognized Tribes and the second on May 22 (closing July 12) for Tribal Organizations and Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs). The funding opportunities were released on grants.gov and direct links to the each announcement are as follows:
• BIA-1800-0002 is open to federally recognized tribes
• BIA-18-0001 is open to not for profit tribal organizations and tribal colleges and universities (TCUs)
Please note a correction to the deadline date in the Dear Tribal Leader Letter for opportunity BIA-1800-0002 for federally recognized tribes sent on May 17, 2018. The correct deadline for this opportunity is July 2, 2018. For more information on the grant proposal process, past award cycles, and other helpful resources, visit the BIA’s Tribal Resilience Program website at www.bia.gov/bia/ots/tribal-resilience-program or contact me at (202) 219-1652, or rachael.novak@bia.gov. Please communicate the corrected information as necessary.

Sincerely,
Rachael Novak
BIA Tribal Resilience Coordinator
