Climate Academy February 2014

Post by NaepcA1 »

Hello all,

It is our pleasure to announce the next offering of Climate Academy. Staff from the USFWS’s NCTC, The Wildlife Society (TWS), the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies (AFWA), the National Park Service (NPS), and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) have worked in partnership to redesign the 10 month pilot. We are excited to present a shorter, more condensed version.

What:
This 5 month online course is designed to cover the fundamentals of climate science, provide tools and resources for climate adaptation, and increase climate literacy and communication. Course participants will then develop a final product (such as a report or presentation) addressing climate change in their management of natural resources. Please see the attached announcement for complete details.

Where:

Class resources and discussion forums will be accessed through Moodle, a distance learning platform (no special software required).

When:

Beginning in February 2014, a webinar session will be held every other week for 5 months for a total of 10 sessions. The specific dates and times are TBD. Registrants will be asked what day and time will work best for the 1.5 hour webinar/discussion sessions. We will accommodate as many participants' schedules as possible and will announce a schedule prior to the start of the class.
