Information previously transmitted on October 16, 2012:

USDA, BIA, FEMA, Commerce, SBA, and other federal partners invite you to attend and participate in a tribal drought and disaster recovery conference call. The call was to be held on Tuesday, October 30, from 2-4 p.m. EDT. THIS DATE HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED (see above).

During the call we will discuss ongoing effects of the drought, recovery from the drought, and implications if the drought continues. Recognizing that recovery from the ongoing drought is a lengthy process; this event will focus on discussing impacts on producers, communities, and local businesses, and discuss resources available to help local recovery efforts.

Federal agencies and local hosts are holding four regional roundtable meetings and tribal leaders have been invited to attend these events in Nebraska, Colorado, Arkansas, and Ohio.

The upcoming conference call will build on conference calls this summer and recent regional meetings, and is focusing only on tribal impacts and recovery efforts. Your participation is important. Please forward this invitation to those members of your staff that would be important participants in the discussion. We will hear briefly from agency representatives and will discuss roundtable outcomes to date as well as specific recovery efforts important for Indian Country.

Thank you.
