California Forest Pest Council
*************************************
Hi everyone, it’s that time of the year again to send me any information on insect/disease/abiotic/animal damage to trees you have seen in your areas for the forest pest conditions report.
We are getting ready to start compiling information for the pest conditions report for this year. Each year the California Forest Pest Council publishes the California Forest Pest Conditions Report in cooperation with Cal Fire, the California Department of Food and Agriculture, the University of California, and the USDA Forest Service. The council would like to improve its reporting and try to reach as many agencies as possible in the California Southern Region that would have knowledge of problems on state and private lands. If you know of any significant pest conditions that have developed within your area during the past year (October 2016 through now), please send me this information so I can include it in this year’s CA Forest Pest Condition Report.
What to include:
1) Include type of pests (insect, animal, pathogen) or abiotic conditions that have significantly lessened or increased or are new this past year.
2) Cause of the damage
3) General location
4) Estimate of acreage or numbers of trees involved.
5) Give as much detail as you have of the area and problems that are occurring.
6) I am seeing a lot of symptoms and dieback caused by the drought. If you are experiencing drought related mortality in your please send me the information.
If you know of someone who could provide information as well please feel free to forward this to them.
If you can send the information to Kim Corella by October 30th . That would give me time to compile the submissions and turn them into the editor by the first week of November. Any information is helpful and please send any pictures you have as well to be included.

Thank you for all your help and if you have any questions please feel free to contact me anytime.
Thanks,
Kim
