JOB TITLE: Office Assistant
SALARY: $8 per hour/hourly
REPORTS TO: NAEPC Executive Director
SUPERVISES: Non-Supervisory Position
GENERAL: This position is grant funded and may be eliminated at the end of the grant cycle. This is a full-time position responsible for staff support to meet the goals and objectives of the Native American Environmental Protection Coalition and its member Tribes. It is grant funded and subject to reduction or elimination depending upon grant funding recieved

Must have a valid California Drivers license-provide current DMV printout to be submitted with application. If motor vehicle report is not submitted, application will not be considered.;

Must acknowledge and agree to maintain a DRUG-FREE Workplace as a condition of employment with the Native American Environmental Protection Coalition; and

Preference is given to qualified American Indians.

INDIAN PREFERENCE POLICY: Preference in filling vacancies is given to qualified Indian candidates in accordance with the Indian Preference Act of 1934 (Title 25, USC§472). Verification from the BIA, form 4432, or the Tribal Enrollment specialist must be submitted is claiming Indian preference. TRIBAL MEMBERS GIVEN PRIORITY PREFERENCE.

The Native American Environmental Protection Coalition is required to implement the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988, 45CFR, part 76, subpart F. As such it is unlawful for employees to manufacture, distribute, dispense, possess, or use a controlled substance on the job site. Employees who are reasonably suspected of violating this act may be subject to drug free testing as a condition of employment.
