Position: Wellness Coordinator

Status: Full-time (Non-Exempt)

Location: Inter Tribal Sports headquarters in Temecula, CA

About Us:
Inter Tribal Sports is a 501(c)(3) non-profit consortium of 21 tribes and tribal organizations based in Temecula, California. Our service area currently consists of the Native American population in San Diego and Riverside counties. In 2013, we served more than 1,200 youth through programs that promote physical activity, cultural awareness, sportsmanship, self-esteem, education, and delinquency prevention. Coed basketball, volleyball, softball, soccer, and flag football leagues are the foundation of the year-round program, with additional enrichment and prevention activities provided through camps, group outings, cultural gatherings, leadership programs, and special events. Our mission is "Unifying tribal youth and communities through structured athletic programs, while providing necessary resources and developing a strong foundation in native culture, leadership, and wellness."

Summary:
The Wellness Coordinator will develop, supervise, coordinate, and promote a variety of health, wellness, and nutrition programs throughout the organization's service area.
Duties will include:
• Participating in the development, implementation, and marketing of health and wellness program goals and strategies.
• Collecting and analyzing data regarding the effectiveness of the wellness program.
• Presenting curriculum and training for service population.
• Providing guidance on integrating nutrition education curriculum and games into sports, cultural, and leadership programs.
• Establishing and maintaining cooperative planning and working relationships with partner organizations and the tribal communities served by Inter Tribal Sports.
• Engaging community members in ongoing, progressive health programs and serving as point of contact in health and nutrition education programming.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate for this position will have at least three years of experience directly related to health education, nutrition education, curriculum development, and program development, implementation and coordination. Knowledge of health-related issues and trends affecting the service population and ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds is required. Must be available to work evenings and weekends. Minimum education required for consideration for this position is a Bachelor's Degree.

Salary Range:
DOE, provide salary history and requirements in application.

13 paid holidays, personal time off based on full-time equivalency, and eligibility for health insurance and 403(b) retirement plan after completion of 90-day introductory period.
