2012 Temporary Employment Opportunities

The Klamath National Forest will be filling temporary summer positions in 2012. The majority of our temporary positions will be in wildland firefighting, but other 'Non-Fire' positions will also be available. Attached is information on the type of jobs offered and the announcement numbers to apply. (The 2011 OCR Announcement numbers are current/correct for 2012). Also attached is the 2012 Wildland Firefighter Temporary Recruitment Bulletin.

To apply for these temporary jobs, applicants must apply through Avue Digital Services https://www.avuedigitalservices.com/usfs/applicant.html.
Vacancy announcements may also be accessed through USAJOBS at https://www.usajobs.gov. Specific information about the position may be found on both the AVUE and USAJOBS websites.

These positions are located at various duty locations throughout the Klamath National Forest. To be considered for any of the jobs on the Klamath National Forest, when applying select 'AVUE location(s)' on the Klamath National Forest: Callahan, Fort Jones, Happy Camp, Klamath River, Macdoel, Scott Bar, Seiad, Sawyers Bar, Cecilville, Yreka. You are only allowed to select nine (9) locations in Avue. Applicants are encouraged to provide an attached list of preferred duty locations in priority order.

Contact information for Non-Fire positions on the Klamath is as follows: Supervisor's Office in Yreka at 530-842-6131; Goosenest Ranger District in Macdoel at (530) 398-4391; Happy Camp/Oak Knoll Ranger District in Happy Camp at (530) 493-2243 (also for duty location of Seiad) and Klamath River at (530) 493-1502; and Salmon River/Scott River Ranger District in Fort Jones at (530) 468-5351 (also for duty locations of Callahan, Scott Bar, Sawyers Bar and Cecilville).
