On September 20, 2016, 8:00a.m.-12:00p.m., NAEPC and the Pala Band of Mission Indians are providing a workshop on Zero Waste. According to studies the average person creates anywhere from 4.3 pounds to 7.1 pounds of trash per day. We wake- up, make coffee, use a paper towel, eat a microwave meal, or scramble an egg, pop in a breath mint or gum, grab a cup to go...creating more trash throughout our day. Zero waste is the philosophy that all products are re-used and no trash is sent to landfills or incinerators following a “natural process.”

Presenters: Rich Flammer and Richard Anthony of Zero Waste San Diego which is non-profit organization run by 100% volunteers dedicated to spreading the message and providing education on the value of Zero Waste practices. Their mission is to create, promote and implement programs that reduce waste, maximize management and conservation of resources, educate and persuade citizens to adopt a zero waste philosophy and provide ideas and guidance to implementing zero waste in our region.
